The American College of Surgeons "Stop-the-Bleed" program advocates for legislation that helps increase access to bleeding control education and kits.
TX House Bill (H.B) 496 requires all Texas public and charter school personnel to participate in Stop-The-Bleed training. Training is offered to students in grades seven and higher. H.B 496 mandates Independent School Districts install bleeding control kits in every school.
The Pediatric Emergency Disaster System is an EMS-type solution used in a backpack, hanging, and MASCAL configuration containing resuscitation equipment for pediatric trauma.
Buildng on the established color-coded system for pediatric trauma allowing healthcare personnel to triage and treat pediatric trauma following the M.A.R.C.H. algorithm (DoD) or the B.A.B.I.E.S algorithm contributing to PEDI-READY Emergency Rooms, Clinics, Ambulances, and other environments with pediatric patients.
The triage and treatment algorithms focus on evidence-based medicine defining trauma focus on hemorrhage control, airway management, and penetrating chest trauma leading to tension pneumothorax as the three leading causes of death in trauma.
Canine Emergency Disaster Systems (K9EDS) focuses on trauma of Law Enforcement Operational Canines (LEOK9), Military Working Dogs (MWD), and outdoor tracking dogs. The K9EDS provides equipment and training for the canine industry. Primary breeds are Belgian Malinois or Shepherds, German Shepherds, and Labrador Retrievers ranging in weight from 50 to 75 pounds (22 to 34 kgs).
Canines (K9) augment Law Enforcement as Operational K9s and the military as Military Working Dogs (MWD).
Both are Service Members requiring injury triage, treatment, and injury prevention.
